The Columbus Base May meeting was held at: American Legion Leasure-Blackston Post 239, 700 Morning Street, Worthington, OH 43085 Map.
The Columbus Base "Tolling of the Bells" diner was held Saturday 2 April at VFW #4931, 2436 Walcutt Road, Columbus OH 43228 Map. This event honors and remembers the sixty five (65) submarine losses since establishment of the U.S. Submarine Force. (53 in War time, 12 in Peace time).
There will be an Eagle Scout Court of Honor in Springfield on April 3 for Paul Thibeault, contact Jim Tolson for more details.
The next meeting will be the Submarine Birthday / Tolling Ceremony dinner, Saturday 2 April at the Hilliard VFW 4931 located at 2436 Walcutt Road, Columbus, Oh 43228 starting at 17:00.
Returning member Tony Konecny was welcomed back. Jim Tolson and Bob McCaniel presented the USSVI Eagle Scout patch to William Kelly at his Court of Honor in Liberty IN.
The Columbus Base January meeting was held at: American Legion Leasure-Blackston Post 239, 700 Morning Street, Worthington, OH 43085 (Map). New base officers: Tim Barker (commander), Jim Tolson (vice-commander) and Jim Koogler (treasurer) were given the oath of office by Sharon Lloyd.
The Columbus Base annual Christmas Dinner and Toys for Tots toy collection was combined with the Awards and Holland Club induction ceremony and held Saturday 5 December at VFW #4931, 2436 Walcutt Road, Columbus OH 43228 (Map).
Columbus Base participated in the Columbus Veterans Day parade on 6 November, held our monthly meeting on 7 November and participated in the Logan Veterans Day parade on 8 November.

Charles Sabino provided these photos of the dedication of the USS Birmingham (SSN-695) sail at the DSCC Land and Maritime Command Weapons Park on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Several members of the Columbus Base of USSVI were also in attendance.
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of our WWII shipmate John Alexander, TM3(SS). John qualified on the USS Haddock (SS-231) in 1944.
